  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 beer of your choice (We used Sun King Brewery’s WeeMac)
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) petite diced tomatoes
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 jalapenos
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • chili-recipe1 yellow pepper, chopped
  • 1 can diced green chiles
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Toppings for your chili: sour cream, cheese, green onions, avocado…whatever floats your boat!

  1. Start by simmering the ground beef on the stove in about 1 cup of beer. Once the beef is cooked, put it in a crockpot on low and add in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, black beans, chiles and brown sugar.
  2. Dice the onion, red/yellow peppers and jalapenos and add them to the crockpot along with the rest of the spices. Let the chili cook for about two hours and then add in another cup of beer. Stir in the beer and let the chili simmer for another 30 minutes.
  3. Serve hot with the toppings of your choice and enjoy!
